Kamal Fernandez

Reinforcement-based dog training from one of the most respected names in the field — shared with the GenoVaq Welfare Hub, and linking back, in full, to his own work.

Kamal Fernandez is a world-renowned dog trainer, coach, author and international seminar presenter with more than thirty years' experience. A reinforcement-based trainer, he blends behavioural science, psychology and real-world skill to build lasting, positive relationships between dogs and their owners.

A former police officer with a background in psychology, Kamal is a faculty member of the Fenzi Dog Sports Academy and has competed at the very top of dog sport — representing teams at Crufts and coaching international squads. His work runs from everyday life skills for pet owners through to championship-level coaching.

Everything below is Kamal's own, published here because his approach sits exactly where the Welfare Hub does: kind, evidence-led and focused on the dog. His writing for the Hub is on its way. In the meantime, here is a selection of his videos — and for the full library, his courses and his community, the links go straight to him.
