Description

Glacier Kennels is a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breeding programme run by Lisa and Allan Durand in Warsaw, Missouri, breeding since 2002 with a first litter in 2007. The kennel is an AKC Breeder of Merit at Gold level, a member of the American Wirehaired Pointing Griffon Association, and a NAVHDA member with multiple Natural Ability Breeder’s Awards; litters are registered with both AKC and NAVHDA. This listing centres on the kennel’s currently planned litter: a mating announced for August 2026 between Ch Glacier’s Huntin’ Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day ("Archie") and Ch GCH Glacier’s Luck Be a Lady, CDX, BN, GN, RM2, RAE3, JH, DCAT, CGC, TKN, FITB, FTN, NAI ("Frankie"). No puppies, pricing or deposit terms have been published yet — this is a place to register interest and hear directly from the breeder once there is more to share.

Lineage / pedigree

Archie (Ch Glacier’s Huntin’ Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day) is out of Watereaton’s Little Aquilla ("Barney," imported from Great Britain via Katy Stuehm/Griffonpoint Kennels) and Ziva — one of ten puppies from that litter, alongside littermates Sawyer, Nellie and Fox. He is co-owned with Aaron Cidor. Frankie (Ch GCH Glacier’s Luck Be a Lady, CDX, BN, GN, RM2, RAE3, JH, DCAT, CGC, TKN, FITB, FTN, NAI) is co-owned with Tom Rabideau. We have not found her sire and dam published independently, so they are left off rather than guessed. Glacier Kennels’ foundation dogs were CH North Lake’s Bit O’Honey ("Koko," acquired 2002) and Griffinorr Aron Jagerans Van ("Aron," imported from Sweden, 2003), and the programme has brought in further imports since, including from Sweden, Germany and France.

Performance

Frankie’s own title string — CDX, BN, GN, RM2, RAE3, JH, DCAT, CGC, TKN, FITB, FTN, NAI — spans AKC obedience, rally, hunting and companion titles: Companion Dog Excellent, Beginner Novice, Graduate Novice, Rally Master 2, Rally Advanced Excellent 3, Junior Hunter, Dock Diving Championship, Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog Novice, Farm & Fit Dog titles, alongside her Champion and Grand Champion conformation titles — a versatility record rather than a single-purpose one. Glacier Kennels states on its own site that it has bred over 50 champion dogs with more than 150 titles combined across the programme; we have not independently verified that cumulative figure. Independent results we did find — Canine Chronicle and BaRay Events listings — confirm Lisa Durand as breeder and/or owner of several other Glacier-line dogs with AKC Best in Specialty, Best in Show Reserve and NAVHDA hunt-test placements, which corroborates an active breeding and showing programme rather than resting on the kennel’s word alone.

Proven progeny

This would be Archie and Frankie’s first litter together as far as we’ve found published. Archie is himself one of ten puppies (Barney x Ziva); we have not found a record of an earlier litter he has sired. Frankie is an established, actively campaigned dog, but we have not found a prior litter credited to her either. Neither gap should be read as a negative — only as something not yet publicly documented, and worth confirming with the breeder directly.

Health testing

We have not found independently published OFA, PennHIP or CERF results for Archie or Frankie specifically. The kennel's website states generally that "each dog undergoes rigorous health testing to screen for common genetic conditions," and does publish individual results for a different dog in the programme (Ch Glacier's Marvin the Martian, "Doc": CERF eyes normal, OFA thyroid normal, PennHIP L0.30/R0.29, 80th percentile) — which shows the kennel does test and publish results when it has them, but isn't evidence about this particular pairing. We'd ask the breeder directly for Archie's and Frankie's own hip, elbow and eye clearances before treating this as verified, and have flagged that to her.
