Holmside Applejack

Description

Holmside Applejack is a Breed Quality Approved Cleveland Bay stallion standing 17.1hh with 10 inches of bone — deliberately at the taller end of a breed where most stand 16hh or under. He is by Oaten Tops'l out of Holmside April Rose, and he stands at Kenley in Nottinghamshire within a closed, naturally-managed herd.\n\nApplejack lives outside with his mares all year and covers naturally. Kenley is a closed environment: no outside mares visit the premises and no outside horses come in. That is a deliberate biosecurity decision, not a limitation of the horse.\n\nHe was inspected for his Basic Licence as a four-year-old — already with two foals on the ground — and passed CBHS inspection for his Breed Quality Approved certificate immediately afterwards.\n\nThere is no advertised stud fee. Each mare is assessed on the quality of her breeding and her standing on the CBHS SPARKS genetic-diversity sheets. Green matings only; occasionally yellow, depending on the breeding. Never red.
