Starmaking Phesi, known as Bear, is a white and lemon working Clumber Spaniel standing at stud in Wiltshire with his owner, a veterinary surgeon. He carries the Venaticus working line on his sire’s side — his sire, Venaticus Ivan, is out of Venaticus Henrietta, the breed’s most highly awarded bitch since 1900 — and is described on the Working Clumber Spaniel Society stud register as a jovial, enthusiastic and capable dog who leaves no blade of grass unscented, with an incredible nose and a gentle nature. He is proven at stud, with one Kennel Club registered litter of seven born in April 2025.

Very affectionate with the whole household, including the other dogs, the cat and the sheep, and has helped rear Labrador puppies in the family — a role, his owner notes, he took remarkably seriously.
