Kate Clapperton and Kamal Fernandez — the Welfare Hub's contributor model takes shape

From the beginning, the GenoVaq Welfare Hub has been built on one rule: we don't write our own welfare advice. Every substantive piece of welfare, health or training content on this platform is written — or filmed — by a named, credentialed practitioner whose reputation exists entirely independently of us. This week, that model took real shape.

Kate Clapperton, Kennel Club Assured Breeder and veterinary physiotherapist behind Rippletrix Border Collies, has been with us from the start — our founding breeder, and now the author of a growing shelf of journal pieces under her own byline, alongside a 19-clip puppy foundation video library and two free puppy-pack PDFs. Her latest piece, Installing confidence in your puppy, from birth onwards, published today.

And now Kamal Fernandez joins her. A world-renowned reinforcement-based dog trainer, coach and author with more than thirty years' experience — former police officer, Fenzi Dog Sports Academy faculty member, Crufts competitor and international squad coach — Kamal has shared a selection of his training videos with the Hub, with his written work to follow. You can watch them here, and every one of them links straight back to his own channel, courses and community.

That last point is the whole idea. Their credibility is theirs — they keep it, and they lend it to specific pieces of work rather than handing it to us. It costs more and it grows more slowly than generated content ever would. It is also the only kind of welfare advice worth reading.
