World Horse Welfare names centenary vet partner in three-year tie-up

World Horse Welfare has announced a three-year partnership with inspiring vet care — the UK's largest veterinary group, formerly trading as IVC Evidensia — which becomes the charity's official Centenary Vet Partner from 2026 to 2028. The timing is deliberate: the charity is approaching its centenary year, having spent a century working on horse welfare in the UK and internationally.

The substance goes beyond funding. Inspiring vet care's equine network, which numbers around 300 vets across dedicated equine and mixed practices, will carry out pre-travel health assessments so horses are fit to move safely to World Horse Welfare sites. People rehoming through the charity will get access to a discounted Equine Health Plan covering annual vaccinations, dental examinations and parasite testing. Veterinary teams will also run equine dental training sessions at World Horse Welfare centres — providing dental care to horses awaiting rehoming while giving students hands-on experience.

Malcolm Morley, the charity's Director of UK, described the arrangement as deepening work the two organisations were already doing together. What makes it worth noting is the structure rather than the headline: the preventative-care and pre-travel assessment elements attach veterinary evidence to horses at the exact moment they change hands. That is the point at which health history is most often lost, and any model that keeps a record moving with the horse is a step in the right direction.
