World Horse Welfare's rescued pony Peter Pan fronts Classic FM awareness campaign
Actress Felicity Kendal has lent her voice to a Classic FM campaign telling the recovery story of Peter Pan, a pony nursed back to health by World Horse Welfare after being rescued in poor condition earlier in 2026.
Peter Pan was one of four colts rescued from a site in Kent earlier in 2026 and taken to World Horse Welfare's Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Norfolk, arriving in a severely debilitated state. With sustained veterinary care, specialist nutrition and close attention from the centre's team, he made a full recovery and now lives alongside companion ponies in the fields at Hall Farm.
To mark his progress, World Horse Welfare worked with actress Felicity Kendal, a lifelong horse enthusiast, on a Classic FM advertising campaign that shares Peter Pan's story and encourages listeners to support the charity's work with vulnerable horses and ponies. Hall Farm centre manager Sue Hodgkins credited the team's sustained care for his turnaround, saying they worked closely with the centre's vet throughout his rehabilitation.
For horse and pony owners and breeders, Peter Pan's case is a reminder of what specialist rehabilitation can achieve when welfare organisations have the resources to provide it, and of the ongoing role charities such as World Horse Welfare play in caring for equines that arrive in poor condition and need time, expertise and patience to recover.
